留学に興味を持ったきっかけは、旅行や観光を楽しむことが好きだからです。日本には古くて趣のあるたくさんの場所があり、訪れてみたいと思ったのが一番のきっかけでした。 OUCを選んだのは、SMSで大阪は素晴らしいところだとよく耳にしていたので、良い選択になるだろうと思ったからです。私の大学に留学の選択肢がたくさんあったというのも理由の一つになります。

アメリカとは文化が全く違うのでそれに慣れないといけませんでしたが、海外に行くならば心を開くことが一番だと思い、それにより大きく驚くことなく過ごすことができました。留学中は多くの人と話すこと、たくさんの友達を作ることを楽しみました。その他に観光も楽しみましたが、一番好きだったのは、OUCのみんなとグループで一緒に過ごした時間です。OUCの好きなところは、キャンパスがとてもきれいで、みんな親切なところ。母国の大学では、普段学生がキャンパスで集まって話したり、のんびり過ごしている姿はあまり見ないので、多くの学生がキャンパスで時間を過ごしているのは印象的でした。留学を考えているならぜひ挑戦してみて、楽しいよ！

What made me interested in studying abroad was I enjoy traveling and sightseeing. Japan has a lot of old and cool looking places to visit so that's a big reason. I chose OUC because I heard a lot of good about Osaka from social media and how great it was so I thought it would be a fine choice. But I also think my university has many options when it comes down to it.

海外へ留学できる機会はとても限られていると思ったので、この機会を無駄にしてはいけないと思い留学を決めました。充実したカリキュラムや周辺の立地がとても魅力的だったのでOUCを選びました。日本は想像していたよりとても整備されていて、人も米国と比べてとても礼儀正しいと思います。 留学中は日本人のクラスメートと交流して友達になったり、日本を旅行したことがとても楽しかったです。OUCの留学生向けのバディ制度も楽しみました。そのおかげでこれから先もずっと大切にしたいと思える友人をたくさん作ることができました。いつか日本に戻ってきたらもっと流暢に話せるよう、日本語の勉強を続けています。 留学を考えている学生へ、OUCの教職員や学生の皆さんはとても温かく親切で、この留学の機会は一生に一度の貴重な経験になります！

エンポリア州立大学　２年　ケオシブンヘアン　ザンダー　ジョンさん

The opportunity to study in a foreign country is very limited, and I decided that I would not let this chance go to waste. I chose OUC because of the curriculum that it provided, along with the location being very appealing to me. Japan is much more organized and people are a lot more polite than in the United States. I enjoyed making friends with my Japanese classmates, along with exploring the country. I enjoyed the buddy system for the foreign exchange students, because I made lots of friends who I will hold dear for the rest of my life. I am trying hard to keep studying my Japanese so that I can return one day and speak more fluently. Message to students interested in OUC exchange program: the staff and students are very welcoming and nice, and the opportunity is once in a lifetime!

幼いころから新しい場所を訪れたり、異文化に触れることに魅力を感じていました。この留学では、自分を慣れない環境に置くことで視野を広げる貴重な機会になったと思っています。特に環境の違う人たちとの交流を通して語学力を磨くことに興味があるので、その経験が柔軟性や自立した人間性を培うと思い留学を決めました。 OUCを選んだ理由は、大阪が日本の主要ビジネスや商業の中心と広く知られていたので、たくさんの学生が東京へ流れていく中、日本の違った分野を経験したいと思ったからです。また、私の学術的関心や将来のキャリアゴールにつながる様々な授業もあり、日本で生活しながら多くの貴重な知識を得ることができました。

OUCの全てが好きで、スタッフの方々も親切で思いやりがあり、困ったときはいつも快く助けてくれました。先生方も友好的で、柔軟に対応しながら私たちの日本での学習生活が円滑に進むよう心掛けてくれました。キャンパス施設はモダンで綺麗で、充実した設備があり心地よく学べる環境だと思います。そして何よりも、私にとって一番素晴らしかったのは学生の皆さんです。みんな優しく親切で、そのおかげでこれからも大切にしたいと思える交友関係を築くことができました。 今は日本語を流暢に話せるようなるために勉強しています。また日本を頻繁に訪れたり、日本に滞在できるような仕事に就きたいと思っています。

もしこの交換留学生プログラムへの参加を考えているなら、ぜひ挑戦してください！ 最初は東京を選ばないことで何かを見逃してしまうのではと思っていましたが、すぐに大阪で良かったと思いました。訪れるべき場所がたくさんあり、美味しいものもあり、近隣には美しい都市もあって心地よい雰囲気で出迎えてくれます。何よりOUCの皆さんがあらゆる場面でサポートしてくれます。この経験は私にとって輝かしいものとなりました。 一生の思い出と大切な交流関係を得ることができ、OUCを選んだことは人生の中で最高の選択だったと思っています。日本へ留学を考えている方へ心からおすすめします。

サンディエゴ州立大学　４年　マム　アリソン　リダさん

Ever since I was young, I have been fascinated by the idea of exploring new places and immersing myself in different cultures. Studying abroad presented a unique opportunity to broaden my perspective while challenging myself in an unfamiliar environment. I was particularly interested in developing my language skills through real-world interactions and learning from people with different backgrounds. I believed this experience would help me become more adaptable and independent, which is why I was interested in studying abroad. I chose the OUC exchange program because Osaka is widely recognized as one of Japan's major business and commercial centers. While many students are drawn to Tokyo, I wanted to experience a different side of Japan and immerse myself in a city with its own unique culture and identity. Additionally, OUC offered a variety of courses that aligned closely with my academic interests and career goals, allowing me to gain valuable knowledge while experiencing life in Japan firsthand.

OUCを選んだのは、綺麗な場所だと思ったことと、人気の観光地や都市へのアクセスが良く、比較的落ち着いた場所にある学校が自分に合っていると思ったからです。 たくさんのことを理解し、生活に慣れることは難しいだろうと思っていました。ですが、授業は分かりやすく本当に楽しかったです。スタッフの皆さんも問題があった時はいつでも対応できるよう在中しています。 留学期間中に一番楽しかったことは、バディー制度です。たくさんの友達を作ることができたし、一緒にたくさんの思い出を作ることができました。みんなとても親切で優しくて、この留学をさらに良いものにしてくれました。 これから日本語の勉強をもっと頑張って、今まで学んだものを維持できるよう心がけようと思っています。そしてできれば、次に日本へ戻って来るときには今よりもっと日本語が話せるようになっていることが目標です。

留学を考えている皆さんへ、新しいことに挑戦することを恐れたり、ためらったりしないでください！この留学は人生の中でも最高の経験になりましたし、ここで過ごした素敵な時間をこれからもずっと忘れないでしょう！

I chose OUC because I thought it was pretty and I believed it would be better to choose a school that was in a calmer area but still close to a lot of popular sights and cities. I was expecting a lot of that things to be difficult to understand and get used to, but the classes were easy to understand and really enjoyable, the staff was also always there to help out with any problems. What I really enjoyed the most during study abroad was the buddy program. I was able to make so many new friends and so many memories all together. Everyone was so friendly and kind, it made the whole experience so much better. I will be trying hard on learning more Japanese and making sure I keep all the stuff I learned fresh in my mind. The goal will be to hopefully know a lot more Japanese when I come back to Japan!

留学に興味をもったきっかけは、幼いころから異文化を見たり学んだりすることが好きで、海外に行きたいと思っていました。日本や日本文化について強い憧れを抱いていたので、日本の留学情報を見た時に挑戦してみたいと思いました。 留学中に楽しかったことは、全てです。皆さん親切で、食べ物も美味しくで、日本の文化はとても美しいと思います。OUCの好きなところは、キャンパスがとても綺麗で、スタッフも学生のみなさんもとても素敵な人たちです。 今日本語の勉強に力をいれているので、できれば近い将来日本に戻って4ヶ月以上は滞在したいと思っています。

留学を考えている人へ。是非やってみてください。とても素敵な経験で一生心に残る素晴らしい経験になると思います。

I've always had a love for seeing and learned about different cultures and been wanting to go abroad since I was young. I've had a strong for Japan and its culture for a while and when I saw the study abroad in Japan I wanted to take that opportunity. What I enjoyed the most during study abroad was everything, everyone was so nice, the food was amazing, and the culture is so beautiful. The campus was beautiful and all the staff and students were so nice. I'm now trying hard to study my Japanese so hopefully in a near future I can go back and stay longer than 4 months. Message to students interested in OUC exchange program: Do it, it's a beautiful experience and it'll an amazing experience you'll think about for the rest of yourself.

留学に興味を持ったきっかけは、日本語と日本文化を学び、観光客ではなく地域の一員として生活してみたかったからです。関西で学びたかったので、インターンシッププログラムがあると聞いていたOUCを選びました。実際はプログラムが無くなっており残念ではありましたが、交流イベントや歓送迎会が多く、施設も充実していました。日本語学習の機会もあり、授業に関しては発表型ではなではなく討論中心だったことや、神戸・京都・和歌山への校外学習があったことは想像以上でした。 一番楽しかったことは、博士号を持つ先生方の授業と日本語だけの日常生活、地域の方との交流や京都でのアルバイトです。OUCの博士号を持つ先生方の高い専門性や親切なところ、職員や学生の方々もとても親切でEnglishカフェがあったことも好きなところです。 日本語の読み書きをもっと自然にできるよう勉強して、日本で将来を見つけたいと考えています。

サンディエゴ州立大学　4年　ルディナ　マックスミリアン　ディエゴ

I became interested in studying abroad because I wanted to learn the Japanese language, culture and experience life as a member of the local community rather than as a tourist. I also wanted to study in the Kansai region, so I chose Osaka University of Commerce (OUC) as I had heard that internship opportunities were available. Although I was disappointed to find that the internship program was no longer offered, there were many exchange events, such as welcome and farewell parties. The campus facilities were also well equipped, and there were plenty of opportunities to study Japanese. I was pleasantly surprised that classes focused more on discussion than presentations, and that there were field trips to Kobe, Kyoto, and Wakayama prefectures. . The most enjoyable aspects of my study abroad experience were taking classes taught by professors with doctoral degrees, living my daily life entirely in Japanese, interacting with local community members, and working part-time in Kyoto. I especially appreciated the high level expertise and kindness of the professors at OUC. The staff and students were also very welcoming, and I enjoyed participating in the English Cafe. Currently, I am working hard to improve my Japanese reading and writing skills to be more natural and I hope to build my life and career in Japan in the future.

Each exchange student will be allotted one or two Japanese student(s) to support your college life at OUC. We call them "buddies." Their mission is to help you smoothly adjust to your college life at OUC.
